
Community Use of Schools at ÉSMS & ÉHI
Non-profit organizations supporting active lifestyles
To acknowledge and encourage local partnerships and support healthy lifestyles for community members of all ages, ÉSMS & ÉHI will not charge a location fee for non-profit organizations within the RM of DeSalaberry and the Village of St-Pierre in their respective communities. These organizations include (Rat River Rec, Village de St Pierre, Cadets, Gymnastics, Youth for Christ, Parent Advisory Councils, Grad committee meetings, Minor hockey registration/monthly meetings, Paroisse) Stipulations for this agreement are as follows:
- Groups must supply and provide proof of insurance before using the facility.
- Groups must supply their own equipment. There will not be access to the school equipment room.
- In the event of requesting the use of equipment, groups will need to make prior arrangements with the school administration. Any damaged equipment will need to be replaced. As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, the individual making the request shall be held accountable for any damage to the school facilities.
- Use of the rental space for (ÉSMS & ÉHI) students takes precedence over the use of space by any other groups.
- Reservations will be on a first come first serve basis for a maximum amount of 1 reservation per week to a maximum of 35 sessions per year. Twenty-four hours notice is required for cancellation. Two missed cancellations will result in the agreement being suspended upon review.
- The hours available for use are Monday-Friday between 4:00-10:00 (Sept to June)
- As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, rentals may take place if a Red River Valley School Division employee is available to open and close the building. It is not necessary for an employee to remain on-site during the entire function.
- As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, the “Community Use of Schools Procedure - Application for Use of School Facilities form must be completed for all requests a minimum of 48 hours prior to the event.”
- All individuals using the gym must use appropriate, non-marking and clean footwear and must leave the gym in the same order and cleanliness before use.
- The school administration reserves the right to change this arrangement at any time they see fit.
- All groups must accept and adhere to the conditions outlined in the RRVSD Community Use of Schools Procedure. Please read all the conditions carefully.
Group rentals for groups who are not a non-profit organization being run within the RM of DeSalaberry or the Village of St-Pierre (boot camps, fundraisers, sales, cooking classes, etc.) and weekend rentals
Groups requesting use of the gym will be charged a flat fee of $20/hr. If a group is willing to provide a discount to student participants, rental fees may be waived upon review. The stipulations for this agreement are as follows:
- Groups must supply and provide proof of insurance before using the facility.
- Groups must supply their own equipment. There will not be access to the school equipment room.
- In the event of requesting the use of equipment, groups will need to make prior arrangements with the school administration. Any damaged equipment will need to be replaced. As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, the individual making the request shall be held accountable for any damage to the school facilities.
- Use of the gym for ÉSMS and/or EHI students takes precedence over any other groups.
- The hours available for use on weekends are between 8:00-6:00. The hours available for use on Monday-Friday are between 4:00-9:00. (Sept to June)
- All individuals using the gym must use appropriate, non-marking and clean footwear and must leave the gym in the same order and cleanliness before use.
- As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, rentals may take place if a Red River Valley School Division employee is available to open and close the building. It is not necessary for an employee to remain on-site during the entire function.
- As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, the “Community Use of Schools Procedure - Application for Use of School Facilities form must be completed for all requests. a minimum of 48 hours prior to the event.”

- There will be an extra charge if floor protection is required for use.
Private functions and individual rentals (Birthday parties, family gatherings, sports wind-ups, etc.)
Individuals requesting to use the gym will be charged a rental fee of $20/hr or part thereof. The stipulations for this agreement are as follows:
A) Individuals must purchase and provide proof of insurance before using the facility.
B) Groups must supply their own equipment. There will not be access to the school equipment room.
C) In the event of requesting the use of equipment, groups will need to make prior arrangements with the school administration. Any damaged equipment will need to be replaced. As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, the individual making the request shall be held accountable for any damage to the school facilities.
D) Use of the gym for ÉSMS and/or EHI students takes precedence over any renters.
E) The hours available for use are from 4:00-9:00 on weekdays and between 8:00-6:00 on weekends. (Sept-June)
F) All individuals using the gym must use appropriate, non-marking and clean footwear and must leave the gym in the same order and cleanliness before use.
G) As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, rentals may take place if a Red River Valley School Division employee is available to open and close the building. It is not necessary for an employee to remain on-site during the entire function.
H) As per the RRVSD administrative procedures for community use of schools, the “Community Use of Schools Procedure - Application for Use of School Facilities form must be completed for all requests. A minimum of 48 hours prior to the event.”
F) Fees may be waived for staff members at ÉHI and ÉSMS in their respective schools. Staff will still need to provide proof of insurance and should complete the same forms as all rentals at their own cost.
I) The school administration reserves the right to change this arrangement at any time they see fit.
J) All groups must accept and adhere to the conditions outlined in the RRVSD Community Use of Schools Procedure. Please read all the conditions carefully.
K) There will be an extra charge if floor protection is required for use.
Notes
- An additional cost of $150.00 will be charged if the use of the floor covering is deemed necessary by the school.
-A $50 charge may be added to weekend rentals for opening and closing of the school depending on the availability of staff to open and close the building.
